Alan Rogers Review
Patornay is a pleasant village just by the River Ain where it starts to widen on its way to the Lac de Vouglans. This well equipped five-hectare campsite lies right on the riverbank, with direct access for boating, canoeing and fishing. There are around 220 slightly uneven and sloping pitches with around 110 for touring units. All have electricity (6A Europlug). Many have heavy shade and of these, 40 are in a more natural area where there is no electricity, and water taps are a bit further apart.
In July/August the site arranges activities and events for young and old. There is plenty to occupy campers on the site, but the countryside, its villages and other attractions are also well worth exploring on foot, by bicycle or by car.
Two modern toilet blocks are adequate. Facilities for disabled visitors. Baby room. Motorhome services. Washing machines and dryers. Basic shop. Fresh bread daily. Weekly mini-market. Bar, snack bar, takeaway and terrace (seasonal). Satellite TV. Games room. Swimming pool with slides and flume, paddling pool (seasonal, no Bermuda shorts). Playground. Activities for children include mini discos, parties and weekly shows. Sports field. Boules. Fishing (licence from reception). Internet and WiFi.
LocationFrom Lons-le-Saunier, take the D52, then D678 southeast to Pont-de-Poitte. After 17 km. in village, cross river bridge towards Clairvaux-les-Lacs. After 100 m, turn left at site sign and immediately fork left. Link to campsite location map on google
