Alan Rogers Review of Camping le Montant
Camping le Montant is located on a hillside overlooking beautiful countryside only 2 km. from Sarlat. It is family run and there is a friendly welcome. There are 131 pitches, of which 92 are large pitches for touring units, the remainder being used for a variety of high quality furnished accommodation to rent. The touring pitches, all with 6/10A electricity, are divided into two areas, each with its own sanitary block. One part of the site is shaded with hedges, the other area is more open with flat terraced pitches looking out over the wooded hills. Access to these however, via narrow site roads, may be difficult for large units. Good amenities include an outdoor pool with slides, a heated indoor pool and large jacuzzi, and a bar/restaurant with terrace built in traditional style and surrounded by flowers.
Recent additions and improvements include a playground with modern activities and a large area for minigolf, boules and table tennis. In high season a daily supervised activity programme is arranged with pool activities, mountain bike outings, canoeing, a miniclub and sports tournaments. Sarlat and the surrounding area is very popular in the summer with many cultural and musical events taking place. Sarlat market takes place every Saturday.
Facilities at Camping le Montant
Both toilet blocks are very well equipped especially a newer one with an accessible family bathroom. Large laundry. Bar, restaurant and takeaway (limited opening hours in low season). Swimming pool complex with outdoor pool (from 9/5), slides, heated indoor pool and large indoor jacuzzi. New playground. Tennis. Multisports area. Minigolf. Boules. Bicycle hire. Activities organised for children, teenagers and adults day and evening (July/Aug). Free WiFi in bar and reception area.
Directions to Camping le Montant
Site is 2 km. south of Sarlat off the D57 Sarlat-Baynac road. If approaching from Sarlat, site is signed to the right. Follow this road for 1 km.
