Alan Rogers Review
La Vallée Verte is a terraced campsite on a wooded hillside by the River Cèze, one of the tributaries of the Rhône. It is set in 36 hectares with 140 good sized pitches, 75 for touring (all with 6/10A electricity), marked out and surrounded by greenery. Eighteen new grand confort pitches, fully equipped with services and private bathrooms, are now available. There are breathtaking views from some of the terraces and the delightful restaurant area, which overlooks the swimming pool and the river. The campsite is under Dutch management and you are promised a warm and personal welcome. A variety of chalets, fully-equipped tents and mobile homes are available for hire.
La Roque-sur-Cèze is one of France’s ‘Plus Beaux Villages’, thanks partly to the imposing waterfall, the Cascades du Sautadet, and the village’s narrow medieval entrance bridge, the Pont Charles Martel. The diversity of the countryside around La Vallée Verte will appeal to walkers, cyclists, swimmers, anglers, mountain bikers, and canoeists. Motorists can explore the Ardèche, the Cévennes, Provence and the Rhône Valley, and visit the towns of Avignon, Nîmes, Uzès and Orange.
Two toilet blocks, one fully equipped, one without showers. Some serviced pitches have good access for disabled visitors. Shop in reception. Bar and restaurant/pizzeria with takeaway meals. Swimming pool (with slide) and paddling pool. Direct access to river and pebble beach. Multisports court. Playground. Tennis, basketball, volleyball, football, table tennis, cycling, mountain biking and hiking. Boules. Riding. Themed weeks in early and late season. Kids’ club. Ghost hunts.
