Alan Rogers Review of Camping la Vallée de Gardeleau
Camping la Vallée is a delightful, well established family run site. It is well hidden, tranquil and private, some 9 km. from civilisation and deep in the countryside of Lot-et-Garonne, very close to the border of the Dordogne and 150 km. from the Atlantic coast. It has a total of 35 pitches, 28 for touring, all with 5-10A electricity, water and drainage. There are seven mobile homes to rent. Two special pitches have satellite TV connection. The medium sized pitches are well laid out, all with hedges and shade, some with views. The owners, Virginie and Laurent Faivre, are very conscientious and work extremely hard to keep the site clean and well maintained.
The welcome and ambience is excellent. Here you will definitely have a relaxing and comfortable stay. The pitches are arranged in two rows giving good privacy. Some have wooded areas in front and behind, others have woods behind and open fields with a small vineyard in front. Deer are regular visitors to the woods and fields as are many different types of birds and colourful lizards. Day trips to the Atlantic coast or to the Lot valley are easy and rewarding excursions. On return it is possible to visit the restaurant for a special local evening meal and relaxing drinks. Closer to the site are many fortified villages with their individual châteaux. The Bordeaux vineyards are also within easy reach where many producers have wine tasting and sales outlets often in small châteaux. Ninety percent is red, but white and rosé are also to be found.

Two sanitary blocks, one heated, are well sited and clean. Accessible facilities, Baby room. Washing machine. Shop for basics with fresh bread delivered daily. Bar/restaurant. TV room. Swimming pool. Large boules area (need to bring own boules). Small play area. Communal stone barbecue. Library in reception. Minigolf. Volleyball. Badminton. 5 bicycles for use by campers. WiFi over part of site.
