Alan Rogers Review of Camping la Turelure
Set on the banks of the rivers La Lande and La Ligne, la Turelure is in the heart of the Southern Ardèche with easy access to the many nearby tourist sights and activities. This friendly, family site has a secluded atmosphere being set in natural surroundings and away from the road. Of the 65 pitches, 45 are for tourers and are large, grassy and well drained. Some are open, though many have shade, and all have 10A electricity. In high season you can swim in a private stretch of the river. Canoes and fishing are also allowed. The approach track is a little narrow, so care is needed. Good English is spoken.
There is much to explore and to do in this superb region, and the friendly owners are knowledgeable and helpful. Local wines and produce such as pâté, jams and honey are on sale in reception. High season entertainment includes paella evenings, a country dancing evening and some children’s entertainment.
Facilities at Camping la Turelure
Two modern sanitary blocks (one very new, which is covered rather than inside) with nursery area and a family cabin, and good accessible sanitary facilities. Washing machine (tokens). Fridge rental. Bar. Snack bar and takeaway (July/Aug). Swimming and paddling pools (15/5-30/9). Play area. Pétanque. River swimming (unsupervised; July/Aug). Fishing. WiFi (first 30 minutes free).
Directions to Camping la Turelure
From north on A7, take exit 16 (D104 Privas and Aubenas). Continue through Aubenas on D104 (now signed Uzer and Ales). Shortly after Uzer take third exit on roundabout, still on D104, and after 100 m. turn left onto track through farm and vineyards. Follow signs to site and river (500 m).
