Alan Rogers Review of Camping la Plage
Camping la Plage is set in an attractive walnut grove on the banks of the Dordogne, on the edge of the village of Meyronne. The 57 grass touring pitches are level and of a good size. Although not delineated by hedging, they are clearly marked and all have 6A electricity. This family run site is well cared for and the enthusiastic owners organise entertainment for children in high season. Canoe hire is available immediately adjacent to the site. A well placed site for visiting nearby Rocamadour, Souillac and Martel. The more central area of the Dordogne also has plenty of beautiful villages waiting to be explored.
Numerous opportunities are provided here for those looking for an activity based holiday and equally for experiencing a real taste of France.
Facilities at Camping la Plage
Two sanitary blocks (one new in 2013). Family bathrooms and accessible facilities. Shop for basic provisions. Bar, snack bar and takeaway. Attractive outdoor swimming pool. Play area. Bicycle hire. Boules. River fishing. Kayak hire. Weekly disco (high season). Free WiFi throughout.
Directions to Camping la Plage
From the north, exit A20 motorway at junction 55 for Souillac. At roundabout follow D803 towards Martel. After about 5 km. turn right onto D15 through St Sozy and cross the River Dordogne into Meyronne. Site is immediately on the right.
