Alan Rogers Review of Camping la Pergola
Close to the Swiss border and overlooking the sparkling waters of Lac de Chalain, la Pergola is a good quality terraced site set amongst the rolling hills of the Jura. Neat and tidy, and very well maintained, it has 350 large pitches, 100 for touring, mainly on grass and gravel and separated by small hedges. Ten are serviced pitches. All have electricity (10/12A), water and drainage and some have shade from a variety of mature trees. The remainder are occupied by chalets. The attractive bar/restaurant and terrace are next to the pool complex and entertainment area, with views over the lake. This is a good holiday base for families with young children. English is spoken.
The area is awaiting discovery as it is not on the main tourist routes. A tall fence protects the site from the public footpath that separates the site from the lakeside but there are frequent access gates. The entrance is very attractive and the work that the staff put into the preparation of the flowerbeds is very evident. The terrace features grape vines for welcome shade and a colourful array of spectacular flowers.
Facilities at Camping la Pergola
Three good quality and well appointed toilet blocks provide all the necessary accessible facilities and excellent provision for children. Washing machines and dryers. Motorhome services. Shop (14/6-6/9). Self-service restaurant (14/6-6/9). Bar, takeaway (8/5-6/9). Pool complex (8/5-6/9), indoor and outdoor pools heated. Good play areas and children’s clubs. Boules Lake swimming. Fishing. Bicycles, pedaloes, canoes and small boats for hire. Organised programme in high season, evening entertainment with disco twice weekly. Inflatable games, Multisports, Cinema, Mini-golf, Ping-Pong tables, Beach volleyball, Football ground, Pumptrack,Internet access and WiFi (charged). Chalets for rent.
Directions to Camping la Pergola
Doucier is 25 km. east of Lons-le-Saunier on D471. From D471 turn south towards Doucier onto D27, site signed. Site in 3 km. beside Lac de Chalain.
