This is the place to get away from it all – situated in the middle of Italy, high in the peaceful Abruzzo mountains with magnificent views over the Barrea lakes. It's an uncomplicated site, an hour from Rome and Pescara, and it could be another world in terms of peace and quiet. The site has limited facilities, but swimming, riding and fishing are all possible nearby. The 105 touring pitches (4A electricity) are set on a hillside amongst wildflowers and grasses and are relatively open, with wraparound views of the surrounding mountains.
The ebullient owner Tomasso Pasetta d’Amico and his family make everyone welcome to this peaceful, natural site. Tomasso is an expert in Alpine walking and a great raconteur. Ask him about ‘calling wolves’ – he really does and has appeared on BBC World talking about this. If mountain walking is for you, Tomasso will also give sound advice on the many trails starting from the site, of different gradients, each with its unique appeal. English is spoken.
Facilities
Single clean, modern sanitary block with hot water throughout (honesty payment in high season). Mainly British style toilets. Accessible facilities,Laundry facilities. Motorhome services. Bar, coffee bar and small shop. WiFi (free). Torches are essential.

From A25 take route 83 from Celano and site is signed 4 km. before Barrea. Alternatively route 17 from Pratola/Sulmona through Castel di Sangro then right to route 83 and site is 1 km. before Barrea.
