A warm welcome awaits you at Camping la Fage, a rural hillside site on the edge of La Chapelle Aubareil. It is situated between the valleys created by the Dordogne and Vezere rivers. The Jaillant family have created a peaceful place to stay in the beautiful countryside and offers 40 spacious touring pitches, all with 10A electricity. These are well laid out, numbered and separated by shrubs and hedges. There are also 43 pitches occupied by mobile homes and tent lodges, which are available to rent.

Reception is situated just a few hundred yards from the gate, and English is spoken. You will find all facilities in this central area and all are easily accessible. In high season entertainment is held within this area, and when I visited, there was a barbecue evening where you were encouraged to bring your food and cook it on the pre-lit barbecues; this was a great ice breaker for new guests and was followed by entertainment that ended at 11.00 p.m.

On-site facilities include a large covered pool with terrace and sun loungers and host a very energetic aerobics class in the mornings. Laundry and Sanitary facilities were also easily accessible and cleaned throughout the day.

There is plenty on offer for outdoor enthusiasts with hiking routes to explore, canoeing, climbing, caving and fishing opportunities. The site is well located to discover the charm of the Périgord Noir region either on foot, by bicycle or by car.

One unisex toilet block provides showers and washbasins in cubicles and accessible facilities. Washing machines and dryers. Basic shop, restaurant, bar and snack bar (all July/Aug). Bread to order. Covered outdoor swimming pool (heated from 1/5) and small children’s pool. Play area. Trampolines. Pedal car hire. Tennis. Volleyball. Games room. Library. Activities for children and family entertainment (high season). Free WiFi over site.

Directions to Camping la Fage

From north, leave A89/E70 at exit 17 and take D6089 and D704 (Montignac and Sarlat). 6 km. after leaving Montignac look for sign to Chapelle Aubareil. Site well signed from here. NB: In July and August check traffic report for delays.
