Camping La Comtesse is a family-friendly place to stay in the Landes region of France with first-rate facilities and rather excellent pool facilities. There are two pools as well as a waterslide with three tracks. The site is set beside the river which flows alongside the park in case you need more water activity. The site has 100 pitches half of which are occupied by mobile homes. The rest are available for touring units. Long hook-up leads are required on some pitches. There are also mobile homes available to hire.

Even more bathing and a beach is to be found at the splendidly named Lac De Sames-Domaine Des Nymphes about nine kilometres away. The site is 25 kilometres from the Landes coast and 40 kilometres from the Spanish border, in an area with 202 buildings listed as historical monuments, many old towns, abbeys and local festivals. An equestrian centre is three kilometres away and canoeing available within 10.

The spa and market town of Dax, known for its warm waters and muddy treatments since the time of the Romans, is 12 kilometres north of the site. Wander around the town to see its Fontaine Hot, its fourth-century ramparts, 13th-century cathedral and the formal gardens of the town's Parc du Sarrat. To the south-west of Dax lies Bayonne, six kilometres from the Atlantic and north of Biarritz. Its old town centre is one of the protected French Historic Towns. Potter around its cobbled streets to see the half-timbered buildings fronting the Nive river, the town cathedral and the tall Basque houses painted in green and red.

From the A64 junction 6 join the A641and D33 towards Belus. At Moulin A Vent turn right onto D75. At the fourth left junction, Turn left onto Rue de Claquin. The site is on the right off this road.
