Camping Castillonderie is a spacious family run site, ideal for couples and families with young children. It lies in the Vézère valley in the heart of the Périgord Noir. The campsite nestles amongst the trees, hills and valleys offering a quiet rural retreat only 7 km. from Montignac-Lascaux and 17 km. from Sarlat. There are 63 reasonably level, grassy pitches of varying sizes, all with 6/10A Europlug, some in open sunny meadows. Fruit trees, bird nesting boxes and a fishing lake set the tone for this site, which is very popular in peak season when booking is recommended.

There is an attractive, spacious pool with separate paddling pools for the children. Adjacent to the pool area is a large sunbathing area complete with sun loungers and parasols, an ideal spot for unwinding after a busy day exploring the region, which is well known for its prehistoric sites - Thot Museum for prehistoric cave paintings is a short walk away. Fishing competitions are arranged as part of the family entertainment programme and rods can be hired. Deer and wild boar are regularly seen in the surrounding oak woodland.

Directions to Camping la Castillonderie

Leave autoroute A89, Brive la Gaillarde-Bordeaux, at exit 17 (Thenon). Take D6089 southeast for 5 km. to Le Lardin. Then D704 southwest 9 km. to Montignac. At traffic lights turn right towards Les Eyzies. In Thonac turn right to site (signed 2.5km).
