Alan Rogers Review
La Buganvilla is a large, uncomplicated site with mature trees providing a little shade to some of the 250 touring pitches. However, increasingly static caravans, seasonal pitches and bungalows are taking over many pitches. They all have 16A electricity and are mostly on terraces, so there are some views across to the mountains and hinterland of this coastal area. The terrain is a little rugged in places all three sanitary blocks are well maintained and clean. A pool complex near the bar and restaurant is ideal for cooling off after a day’s sightseeing. This is a pleasant base from which to explore areas of the Costa del Sol and it is an easy drive to the picturesque Ronda Valley.
Adjacent to the campsite a large area of common land provides pleasant walks. A footbridge crosses the N340/A7 road and there is a gradual 400 m. downhill walk to the beach, where there are some bars and restaurants. The staff are friendly and some English is spoken, but you will get a chance to practise your Spanish. There is a multi-language book swap and games in the lounge adjacent to the bar, and live Flamenco music nights are held here in high season.
Three sanitary blocks of varying ages are clean and adequate. Laundry facilities (not all sinks have hot water). Motorhome services. Bar/restaurant with basic food. Well stocked small supermarket. Outdoor pool (all year). Play area. Tennis (high season). WiFi (charged). Dogs are not accepted in July/Aug.
Site is between Marbella and Fuengirola off the N340/A7. Access at 189 km. marker is only possible when travelling from Malaga. From the other direction, continue 2kms to the ‘cambio de sentido’ signed Elviria and turn back onto the dual carriageway. Site is signed in the pine tees.Link to campsite location map on google
