Alan Rogers Review
Located in the little hamlet of Kostelec, finding this site is not straightforward, although there are campsite signs from the town of Tyn nad Vltavou, which is roughly 15 km. away. The pretty rural campsite was started in 2005 using old farm buildings and the terraced field below. There are 70 pitches (all with 10A electricity), 20 of these are tent pitches. Drainage problems on the slope and a troublesome steep access road will make manoeuvring difficult during wet weather. There is little shade. This site would make a pleasant base for a quiet holiday in the Czech countryside.
A small paddling pool is available for cooling down after a walk through the surrounding countryside. The sanitary facilities are have been renovated, while while close to reception is a new restaurant with terrace serving meals, snacks and ice-creams.
Toilet facilities are modern and up-to-date. Washing machine. Kiosk selling fresh bread and basic provisions. Restaurant with terrace. Small pool, Play area. Games/TV rooms. Entertainment. Catered barbecue evening weekly. Petting area. Internet access. Bungalow tents and apartment to rent.
From Tyn nad Vltavou centre near the bridge, a small road leads along the northern bank of the river into the countryside to the south. Starting from the bridge, a series of small site signs direct you over the small roads towards the site in Kostolec (14 km).Link to campsite location map on google
