The island of Lefkada is one of the few Ionian islands that you can access without using a ferry. This campsite is 500 m. from the beach on the main road south (slight traffic noise). There are 75 pitches amongst tall olive trees, but only about 15 places are suitable for caravans or motorhomes.

A small, simple restaurant is opened on-demand, so speak early to the owners if you want to eat there. Kariotes village has a small supermarket and three tavernas in a square about 300 m. from the site. To reach the island, you will probably go through the tunnel and then cross the unique bridge. If the klaxon goes it is worth parking to watch the bridge swing into action to allow access for boats.

Around 5 hours from Athens, Lefkada town (2km from the site) is large and you can find most things there, but the rest of the island is rural and quiet.

Directions to Camping Kariotes Beach

Lefkada is 100 km. south of Igoumenista, approached via Preveza. Follow signs for Aktio, through tunnel (toll), then for Lefkada over bridge to town. At end of causeway turn left and head around the bay following signs for Nidri. Just past Lidl, enter Kariotes and site is 300 m. on right.
