Located in Montferrer i Castellbò (Lleida), just 3 km from the historic town of La Seu d'Urgell and about 15 minutes from the border of Andorra, Camping Gran Sol is a well-established, family campsite. It is situated in the Segre Valley, providing a level, grassy terrain surrounded by the dramatic backdrop of the Spanish Pyrenees. The site offers a variety of stays ranging from traditional camping to modern "glamping" setups. There are 156 Large, flat, and grassy toueing pitches which are shaded by mature trees. They include electrical hookups (6A to 10A). It is a traditional Spanish family campsite. During the week, it is typically very peaceful, while weekends can become livelier when locals arrive.
On-site facilities include a seasonal outdoor pool (typically open late June to mid-September) featuring a lawn area for sunbathing and a lifeguard. The on-site Restaurant & Bar is known for local Catalan cuisine, offering tapas, set menus, and snacks. Fresh bread and croissants are available every morning. There is also a dedicated sports area with goals and baskets, a paddle tennis court, table tennis, and a children's playground. The owners are skilled and savvy cyclists and have a small bike repair shop on site as well as bike lockers for guests' use.
High-season activities include organised hiking, Nordic walking, and rafting/canyoning in the nearby Segre Olympic Park. Visit the Santa Maria Cathedral (the only Romanesque cathedral in Catalonia). The site also has Easy access to the Alt Pirineu Natural Park and the Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park.
