Alan Rogers Review
This family run site is located 3 km. from the centre of the interesting city of Segovia with views across the open plain to the mountains beyond. The 200 grass pitches (50 with 6A electricity, water and drainage) are mostly of medium size and arranged off a central avenue. A few pitches near the gate have room for larger motorhomes. An uncomplicated site, reception is small but efficient and the owner is helpful and speaks English. Segovia is deeply and haughtily Castilian, with plenty of squares and mansions from its days of Golden Age grandeur, when it was a royal resort.
The Roman aqueduct, cathedral and Alcazar are well worth visiting and two Bourbon palaces, La Granja and Riofrio, are a few miles from this attractive old city. The Parque Natural Sierra de Guadarrama is 20 km. in the opposite direction and provides walking, cycling, skiing and conserved flora and fauna. A frequent bus service will take you into the city from just across the road and a large supermarket is a 300 m. walk, whilst a hotel is situated outside the gate. The site is now subject to some motorway noise and views as the Spanish road network along with urbanisation has extended in recent years.
Two traditional style toilet blocks provide simple, clean facilities. Laundry room with washing machine. Motorhome services. Small shop for essentials. Bar (July/Aug). Two swimming pools (July/Aug). Large play area. Bicycle hire. WiFi in reception (charged). Car wash. Gas and electric barbecues only.
From the north on N1 (Burgos-Madrid) take exit 99 on N110 towards Segovia. On outskirts of city take third exit onto N603 signed Madrid. Pass one exit to Segovia and take second signed Segovia and La Granja. At roundabout turn right towards Segovia. Site is 500 m. on the right.Link to campsite location map on google
