Camping du Valentin is situated close to Laruns and the spectacular Ossau Valley in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques region. If you want to surround yourself with gorgeous mountain views, but at the same time you don’t want to give up the convenience of being able to source food and activities easily, then this is the place for you. The site has excellent views of the peaks all around, and good access to trails for hikes and bike rides. Access to the village is equally straightforward, a footpath will get you down there in about 15 minutes for shops, restaurants and outdoor activity providers. The owners Stéphanie and Bertrand have done their best to make sure that life is easy on site too with lots of handy things to do. A snack bar and bar are on hand to provide your pre-outing breakfasts and a cool beer or two when you get back from a long hike. The site has 100 terraced, grass/hardstanding touring pitches with 3-or-10-amp hook-up point and 34 mobile homes available to hire.

Head into the village to talk to the experts there about days of canyoning, ziplining and horse riding. Canoeing and fishing days can be had on the Gave d’Ossau river, which runs through the village, and there’s a treetop course to tackle at La Forêt Suspendue, five minutes’ drive away. More ways to taste the area could include a ride on the Petit train d’Artouste, see the big birds at the Vulture Cliff or the Green Mountain Honey Farm. If you have children, a visit to Asson Zoo could also be a possibility.

Directions to Camping du Valentin

From Oleron-Saint-Marie take the N134b towards Herrere and Lasseubetat. Near Lasseubetat turn right onto the D936 and follow this to Rebenacq and join the D934 towads Sevignacq-Meyracq and Laruns. Take the route to the Col d'Aubisque D918 from the centre of Laruns. Turn left approximately 200 metres past the second bridge. The site is sign posted.
