Du Lion is a spacious site bordering the River Rhône, just on the outskirts of the interesting old market town of Bourg-Saint-Andeol. Close to the A7, this site makes a good overnight stop and is also a good base for exploring the famous Ardèche Gorges. There are 140 good sized, level pitches, 119 for touring; all have 6A electricity and long leads may be needed. They are informally laid out, most with good shade from mature trees, others more sunny. In high season, there is a full activity programme with themed dinner and dance evenings, barbecues and sports tournaments, nevertheless the camping area remains peaceful.

Aqua gym is available three times a week. A recent addition, canoeing and kayaking excursions are arranged directly from the site. There are discounted excursions to the local crocodile farm and equestrian centre. The lack of an on-site shop is compensated for by a large supermarket 500 m. from the site.

Facilities at Camping du Lion

Two dated but clean toilet blocks. Laundry room. Bar, snack bar and takeaway, swimming and paddling pools (all 1/5-15/9). Bread ordering service. Boules. Play area. Trampoline. TV/games room. Fishing. Entertainment and activity programme for adults and children (July/Aug). Free WiFi over part of site. Torches required.

Directions to Camping du Lion

From N7, exit west on D59 towards Bourg-St Andeol. Cross river, at roundabout before Bourg-Saint-Andeol take first exit. At T-junction, turn right on D86, then first right onto Chemin du Chenevier. Continue under bridge (4 m. height) and site entrance is on right. Site well signed from Bourg-Saint Andeol.
