Camping Delta is an easy 800 m. walk or cycle ride from the centre of the lovely lakeside town of Locarno. It has a prime position right by the lake, with bathing direct from the site between 07.00 and 22.00, and is next to the municipal lido and sports field. The site has some moorings on an inlet at one side, with a jetty. It has 250 level touring pitches (50-100 sq.m). They are marked out at the rear but with no other demarcation, giving an informal mix of all kinds of camper. Waterside pitches are premium priced.

Campers have access to the municipally owned beach and lakeside gardens, which are very well maintained and safe for swimmers. The views of the lake and surrounding mountains are both calming and inspiring. Locarno is host to an International Film Festival, with classical and jazz concerts and exhibitions at nearby Anscona. Being a busy family site, some noise may be expected in the beach and shower areas, but outside peak periods the site is very peaceful. Dogs are not accepted.

Facilities at Camping Delta

The single toilet block is some distance from the more expensive pitches. Accessible Facilities (key). Washing machines and dryers. Motorhome services. Large well stocked shop. Restaurant/bar with terrace and limited menu. Fitness area. Two playgrounds. Babysitting. Badminton. Amusements. Club room with TV, library and electronic games. Entertainment and excursions. Children’s entertainment programme. WiFi (charged). Kayak hire. Bicycle hire (incl. electric). Shuttle to Locarno (CHF 4 return; bookable). Dogs are not accepted.

Directions to Camping Delta

From central Locarno follow signs to Camping Delta, Lido or Stadio along the lake. Beware that approaching from south there are also Delta signs which lead you to Albergo Delta in quite the wrong place.
