Situated on the Mars peninsula in the Gorge de Loire, this picturesque site has stunning views across the gorge to the hillsides beyond. Of the 63 flat, grassy pitches, 48 are for tourers with the remainder for chalets and mobile homes. The site is gently terraced, with good access to all pitches. All have 10A electricity and water points. The charming husband and wife team will offer a warm welcome and information on local facilities and water based activities. There is a bar with an attractive terrace, where visitors enjoying their evening meal will be rewarded with a stunning sunset in summer.

Located between Clermont Ferrand and Lyon, there are many scenic drives through the countryside to historic sites and villages. Its rural location makes this site ideal for walkers, hikers and cyclists. Fishing is also available on the riverbank a short distance below the site. The owner will gladly offer advice on wine tasting; he has a wide knowledge of local wines as well as those further afield. Dutch and English are spoken in summer.

Two modern sanitary blocks (one heated) have some washbasins in cabins. Preset timed showers. Accessible Facilities, Baby room. Laundry room with washing machine and dryer (token). Small shop for basics. Bread ordered daily. Bar. Restaurant. Takeaway and pizzeria. Heated swimming pool and children’s pool (May-Sept). WiFi (free).

Location

Situated 20km south of Roanne. Leaving the A89 at exit 32 take the D8 north signed St Jean St Maurice. At St Polgues follow D45 east for 10 km. Turn right on to D56 and site is signed after 3 km.
