In the heart of Limousin in the Haute-Vienne department, Camping de la Gartempe is situated in a protected area next to the River Gartempe and also is close to the small village of Châteauponsac. This wooded, terraced site has 36 grassy pitches with electricity (10/16A, Europlug) and water. Some pitches have shade, and others have a more open aspect. There are also 15 mobile homes, cottages and chalets to rent. The bar and terrace overlook the river and valley. The area is well known for its rural and water activities, culture, and history.

It is only 13 km. from the Saint-Pardoux area, a major tourist attraction covering 330 hectares, with a lake in the heart of the forest. It is perfect for outdoor activities with three beaches with lifeguards (July and August), three hiking circuits, walking, fishing, horse riding and mountain biking facilities, and a tree climbing course.

Also, visitors can explore the historic buildings in the area or visit the nearby towns, including the porcelain manufacturing city of Limoges.

Directions to Camping de la Gartempe

Site is 46 km. north of Limoges. From A20 exit 24 onto D220. Continue for 2.3 km. then third exit from roundabout onto D711 for 7.4 km. to Châteauponsac. Drive through village then follow signs to site.
