Alan Rogers Review of Camping De Krim Texel
Camping De Krim Texel is an attractive, well-maintained campsite which is open all year round and you are assured of a warm welcome. There are about 900 pitches which include 413 are for touring units and tents. All have electricity, and 179 have electricity, water and drainage; there are 100 pitches with private sanitary facilities. There are separate areas for bungalows and mobile homes. The manager tells us that Texel records the lowest rainfall and the most hours of sunshine than any other part of the Netherlands. The site is 3 km. from the northern point of Texel.
There are plenty of activities – minigolf, bowling, a big playground inside and outside. The superb indoor pool complex offers sunbeds, steam baths and sauna. The outside pool has a slide. In quiet seasons, sauna and beauty evenings are arranged. There is a varied all-year activity programme.
You can walk to the beach along the coast (2.5 km), past the lighthouse. There are opportunities for horse riding and golf. Facilities on the site include a large supermarket and no less than three restaurants, including one à la carte and a family restaurant. The campsite has a theatre for entertainment. All in all, this is a site for visitors of all ages, although it can be busy in high season.

From Amsterdam drive north towards Den Helder on the A9/N9 and take the ferry to Texel. From the boat take the N501 to the north of the island towards De Cocksdorp. Site is 500 m. from De Cocksdorp, signed on the left hand side.
