De Heidehoek is a well established site in woodland, close to the bustling town of Zwolle and the IJssel river. The site is landscaped with shrubs and flowers and the buildings are constructed of wood which gives the site a rustic, Western-style atmosphere. Most of the 160 numbered touring pitches are pleasantly located in the shade of mature trees. A further 150 serviced pitches (8-10A electricity) are located on two large fields with newly planted trees. Access roads are tarmac and most pitches have 4A electricity. There are also plans to further develop a lake and its small sandy beach into a Water Paradise. Some train noise can be heard.
At the front of the site is a Western-style tavern with a bar, restaurant and terrace. An indoor pool (10x5 m) is decorated in maritime style and has a paddling pool with a dragon fountain. Opposite the pool is Pinocchio’s house for children where an entertainment team will keep them busy in season.
