Alan Rogers Review of Camping Dalai Lama

At an altitude of 1,492 metres, this all-year site is the dream of Renato Sartori, the owner. It is the ultimate luxury mountain retreat. The theme, as the name suggests, is that of Tibet and is evident throughout the main building, especially the bar, reflecting the owner’s love of travel. Reception is operated from the bar in a very relaxed way. Most of the pitches have been given over to seasonal units with timber loggias, but there are a few touring pitches in between (on level grass with 10A electricity). The upper terrace is used mainly for motorhomes, with water, electricity and drainage.

The elegant restaurant offers an à la carte menu plus a comprehensive wine list and the views from here as you dine are stunning. A new indoor pool complex including a sauna, spa and attached fitness room (charged) are spectacular for a small site. Again the views from the pool are wonderful. This campsite is an Italian secret and is worth the challenging climb. Once here we are sure you will be charmed by its views, brilliant facilities and the friendliness of the owners.
