Alan Rogers Review
This campsite enjoys a position well back from the hustle and bustle, where nights are quiet, and facilities are of a high standard. The 300 touring pitches are divided into areas for caravans, motorhomes and tents and are on neatly formed terraces beneath tall pine trees. One-third have electricity (6/10A), water and drainage.
The site is quite hilly, and the narrow roads that wind around it could possibly make it difficult for larger motorhomes to manoeuvre and find suitable pitches. At night, wardens ensure that security and noise levels are controlled. A 1 km. walk takes you to the town of Arcachon, where plenty of shops, bars and restaurants exist.
However, the campsite bar, restaurant and takeaway are open from April to October if you prefer to stay on site. Watersports, paragliding, sailing, tennis tournaments, climbing the biggest sand dune in Europe, and not forgetting such gastronomic delights as oysters and mussels, are readily available.
Three sanitary blocks include facilities for children and disabled visitors. Motorhome services. Washing machine, dryers. Fridge hire. Shop, restaurant, snack bar and takeaway (all April-Oct). Swimming pool (high season). Bicycle hire. Play area. Games room. Children’s club and entertainment for all ages (July/Aug). Electric barbecues only, and a communal area is provided. Internet access. Free WiFi throughout.
Approaching Arcachon from Bordeaux on the N250 take exit for Pyla-sur-Mer (D217E1). Cross over bypass following signs for Abatilles. Pass golf club. At next roundabout follow signs for Camping. Take care as the route travels through suburban housing. Follow campsite signs.Link to campsite location map on google
