Cassandria Bad was established in 1992, lying very close to the Belgian border and the resort of Cadzand Bad, just under 2 km. from the nearest North Sea beach. Pitches are grassy and spacious; some are privately let for the full season. All pitches are equipped with 10A electricity and free cable TV connections. Except for loading and unloading, cars are not allowed in the camping area, but a large parking area is provided. On-site amenities include a bar, snack bar, shop services and games room. During the peak season, a variety of activities are organised, including karaoke, bingo and sports tournaments.

This part of the Netherlands, south of the Schelde, has strong contacts with Belgium and trips to Bruges and Gent are popular. Retranchement translates as bulwarks and there are still remains of vast earthen sea walls, although now this area is best known as a paradise for nature lovers and walkers. It is also the area for cycling with excellent trails from town to town along the dykes that protect the coast.

Two clean and well maintained sanitary units with free showers, and two family bathrooms in the main block. Good laundry facilities. Small shop (fresh bread daily). Bar with LCD projector and screen. Snack bar. Sports fields with volleyball and 2 football pitches. Games room with table football, air hockey and electronic games. Trampoline. Several well appointed and interesting play areas including an indoor play area. Multi sport pitch, Entertainment team, Bicycle hire. WiFi over site (charged). 1 dog allowed per pitch.

Directions to Camping Cassandria Bad

Approaching from the west and Bruges, use the Belgian N31 and then N376 towards Knokke-Heist and then across the Dutch border to Sluis. Here take the road to Groede and turn left towards Cadzand Bad at the second crossroads. Site is well signed from here.
