Fontaine-Vieille is a large, traditional site that has been operating for over 50 years. The site stretches along the eastern edge of the Bassin d’Arcachon under light woodland in the residential area of the small town of Andernos. Popular with the French, it has nearly 700 individual pitches, of which 490 are touring pitches (370 with 5A electricity, Europlug and 50 m. leads required). On flat, grassy or sandy ground, they are marked by stones in the ground or young trees. Some pitches have excellent views of the tidal basin, but a premium is charged for these.

A beach runs alongside the tidal Bassin which can be used for boating when the tide is in. A full range of entertainment is organised in high season.

Three adequate toilet blocks with accessible facilities. Shop. Bar, terrace, takeaway and restaurant (all July/Aug). Unheated swimming pool complex (1/7-15/9). Tennis. TV room. Play areas for little ones and adventure area for older children. Boats, stand up paddle boarding, Sports organised (high season). Internet access. Communal barbecue areas (only gas may be used on pitches). Bicycle hire.

Directions to Camping Caravaning Fontaine-Vieille

From A63 at exit 22, take A660 towards Arcachon. Turn off A660 at exit 2 towards Facture then take RD3 north along edge of the Bassin. Site signed to left as you enter Andernos.
