This is definitely a site for lovers of the seaside, with direct access to a lovely, sandy beach. It is divided into two parts by the railway and dual-carriageway. The main part of the site is arranged off a central access road with plenty of shrubs and trees providing shade. In total there are 480 pitches, 380 for tourers. On the beach side of the site, the pitches are generally smaller (60-70 sq.m), all with shade; there is a bar/snack bar and a toilet block, and direct access to the beach. There are attractive new play and sports facilities for young children.

A bar/restaurant (also open to the public) fronts the main road at the entrance. The site has a good swimming pool complex with lifeguards and an entertainment team organises activities (every day in high season, weekends and some weekdays at other times). There is a security barrier and guard at the main entrance and the beach gate is locked at night. An underpass leads under the railway but care is needed crossing the dual-carriageway when going from one part of the site to the other. The friendly Morell family, owners of the Senia Group, have run Caballo de Mar for 30 years. There is some road and rail noise.

Three toilet blocks, one in the main area and two in the beach area, are fully equipped and well maintained. En-suite units for hire (main side) with accessible units. Facilities for babies. Washing machines and dryer. Motorhome services. Shop and baker (15/6-12/9). Main bar and restaurant. Bar and snacks at the beach in high season. Swimming pool, jacuzzi and children’s pool. Play area. Paddle court. Bicycle hire. Entertainment organised. Miniclub. Well equipped fitness room, massage and UVA machines. Internet. ATM. Fishing.

Directions to Camping Caballo de Mar

Site is off the N11 coast road, southwest of Pineda de Mar. Then leave N11 at km. 669 and following the camping signs to the road alongside the sea. Site is well signed off the beach road on southern outskirts of town. Ask at reception for directions to beach side of site to avoid low bridges.
