If you enjoy the hustle and bustle of the Costa Brava, then Bon Repos is ideal, if a little expensive. It is a long, narrow coastal site with many pitches along the length of the attractive fine sandy beach with direct access and no fence. The 500 touring pitches are of a reasonable size, flat with a sand surface and most with shade, and all have 10A electricity. The railway runs close along one side of the site, which is good for train spotters but does create a noise problem. The beach is the strong point of the site, having rocky outcrops and close by is the bar/restaurant with huge terrace.

The pool is overlooked from here through perspex screens and there is a separate paddling pool beside the main pool. This is a good site for a short visit or transits but the beach pitches will need booking in high season. The site is very popular with Dutch visitors throughout the year and the ‘front line’ pitches, although more expensive, are much sought after. There are 32 new bungalows to rent this season. Groups of Spanish children visit weekly between February and June to learn English.

Facilities at Camping Bon Repos

The two sanitary blocks are dated but clean. The number of showers is low and we suspect they are extremely busy at peak periods. Cold water at washbasins. Limited accessible facilities. Baby room. Washing machines and dryers. Motorhome services. Supermarket. Restaurant. Swimming pools (outdoor March-Oct; with lifeguard). Play area. Barbecue area. Tennis. Bicycle hire. Entertainment and happy hour. Free WiFi over site. ATM. Medical centre. Torches useful.

Directions to Camping Bon Repos

From A7 exit 9 (A19 exit 22) take road to Malgrat de Mar. Then take N11 to km. 674. Proceed to coast road and turn right by sea and railway line. Follow the camp signs which lead to site through a high tunnel under the railway line. Avoid Malgret de Mar town (narrow streets and low bridges).
