Belle Vue is a small, family owned site, with a fine view of the Château de Hautefort, an imposing structure to the east of Périgueux. This is a tiny site with just six pitches, all of which are spacious (and all with 6A electricity). The current owners arrived in 2008 and have set about enhancing the site’s facilities. They will be delighted to recommend walking or cycling routes in the vicinity. The château has an enviable position, overlooking the Auvézère valley and the medieval village of Hautefort.

There is much to visit in this northern part of the Dordogne. It is of course excellent cycling and walking country. Périgueux, the region’s capital, is also within easy access. It is a fine city with a number of Roman vestiges. The cathedral of Saint Front is well worth a visit with curious architecture, claimed by some to be a copy of Venice’s Saint Mark’s basilica.

Toilet block with hot showers, washbasins and dishwashing facilities. Washing machine (small charge). Fresh bread, pastries and newspapers delivered to pitch each morning if required. Basic groceries and soft drinks available. Swimming pool. Free WiFi. Fully equipped tents and rental caravans available for hire.

Directions to Camping Belle Vue

The site is close to the village of Boisseuilh to the east of Hautefort. Leave the A89 autoroute at Peyrignac and head north on D704 to Hautefort. Here, follow signs to Boisseuilh and the campsite on D72 (2.5km)
