Alan Rogers Review
Bella Austria caters predominantly for fixed tents and chalets, with 50 pitches for tourers. It is well located for exploring southwest Styria, the beautiful Mur valley, and the Niedere Tauern alps (highest point Greimberg 2,472 m). To the north, snow-capped Greimberg sits high above the site whilst in other directions you can see pine-clad slopes and Alpine pastures. Not too far away is the small ski resort of Turracher Hohe. Bella Austria is an ideal base for discovering traditional Austria by bicycle, on foot or in a horse-drawn carriage. The site also offers a unique range of workshops. The level, unmarked pitches all have access to 16A electricity, water and drainage. Some road noise is audible.
With the nearby famous towns of Oberwolz, which grew rich through its trade in salt and the smelting of silver, and Murau, with the Matthauskirche, the Schloss Murau and the Elisabethkirche, you have much to see and do.
The modern sanitary blocks provide ample and clean facilities including toilets, hot showers and washbasins. Washing machine. Bar and restaurant. Wellness centre. Heated swimming pool (11/6-23/9). Sauna. Indoor and outdoor play areas. Volleyball. Basketball. 5-a-side football. Entertainment programme (July/Aug). Electric bicycles for hire. WiFi in library/TV room.
From the Murau-Scheifling no. 96 road, turn north towards Katsch just west of Frojach. Follow this road up the valley towards and through Peterdorf to the site on the right set back from the road but clearly signed.Link to campsite location map on google
