Alan Rogers Review of Camping Bel’Epoque du Pilat
This is a peaceful, family run site located within the relatively little known Pilat Regional Park, overlooking the attractive town of Pélussin. There are 70 good sized, slightly uneven and sloping, grassy pitches, of which 50 are for touring (electricity 6A). They are separated by trees and some hedging with most having some shade and some having good views over the valley below. The site is well maintained with an attractive new pool and new, large bar with terrace having panoramic views over the Rhône Valley and the mountains beyond. Large outfits accepted but care needed on narrow winding roads, please use recommended route.
The surrounding area offers very many superb walking and cycling opportunities, with over 700 km. of marked trails. The site’s friendly owners will be delighted to tell you about the region’s many places of interest, notably the medieval town of Malleval, the Carthusian monastery of Sainte Croix-en-Jarez and, of course, the region’s many world class vineyards.

Well appointed toilet block with accessible facilities. Laundry facilities. Motorhome services. Fridge available to hire. Bar (1/5-30/9), snack bar, takeaway meals (July/Aug). Outdoor, heated swimming and paddling pools (May-Sept). Tennis. Play area. Bicycle hire. Entertainment for young children everyday in peak season. WiFi throughout the site (charged).
Directions to Camping Bel’Epoque du Pilat
Leave A7 autoroute, exit 10 Condrieu, 34 km. south of Lyon. Take N86 south to Chavanay, turn west on D7, climb to Pélussin. On entering the village bear left, site signed. Site on right in 1.5 km. Only recommended route.
