When driving through the small town of Erratzu, extreme caution is required due to the narrowness of the streets and it is not advised at all for large units.
This site’s rural setting and the mountain views make this a retreat for those who enjoy camping in quiet surroundings. It consists of a main building housing reception, a shop, a bar and a small restaurant beneath 14 tidy apartments. There are also timber cottages for rent.
Tarmac roads lead to the 145 grass touring pitches which are supplied with water and electricity (10A). Twenty pitches are available for tents. Shady and of a good size, most of the pitches are level. In the early and late season, the campsite is open but a telephone call is necessary to gain access. You may be the only occupants.
Facilities at Camping Baztan
The single sanitary block is clean and has accessible facilities. Shop and bar (all season). Restaurant/takeaway (seasonal). Swimming pool (seasonal). Squash court. In April, May and September to November the site is only open at weekends. If you wish to stay on weekdays, entry can be obtained by dialling a number displayed at the reception (sanitary block will be open). Free WiFi throughout.
Directions to Camping Baztan
From Hendaye head south on the N121A. Turn east on N121B. Continue north to the junction with NA2600. Turn right to Erratzu. Proceed through village, bear left at sign ‘Francia NA2600’ and site is on the right.
