Alan Rogers Review of Camping Baia dei Gabbiani
Baia dei Gabbiani is a long and narrow site, situated between the busy S322 and the beach north of Puntino di Scarlino, 4 km. from the seaside resort of Follonica. The small pitches are on level ground and most have electrical connections. A range of amenities are on offer including a restaurant, bar and supermarket. The site has direct access to the beach and a lively activity programme is organised in peak season. Puntino is just 400 m. away and has a yachting harbour as well as a good selection of shops, bars and restaurants.
This is a dog-friendly site, where animals are allowed in specified areas and are well catered for with a section of beach and a dog shower. The beach adjacent to the campsite has views towards Elba, and is popular for windsurfing, surfing and other watersports. The beautiful, unspoilt bays of Cala Violina and Cala Martina lie to the south and can be accessed on foot, by mountain bike or by boat.

The sanitary block is old and provides mainly squat style toilets, washbasins and token operated showers. Restaurant and bar. Shop. Playground. Entertainment and activity programme in high season. Direct beach access. Chalets to rent. Pets allowed.

From Livorno take the southbound Via Aurelia (S1). Leave at Follonica Nord exit. Head initially towards Follonica and then towards Grosseto.
