Alan Rogers Review
With a beautiful long sandy beach and the town of Hendaye only 900 metres away (a 20 minute walk) this well cared for, family run campsite offers plenty for everyone. Attractively laid out, the grass pitches are flat and shady, most having electricity (6A). We found the railway line running nearby was not intrusive. There is a pleasant bar and restaurant together with an excellent pool area (comfortable and with good quality sun beds and umbrellas). The beach at Hendaye is popular for surfing, particularly for beginners. Having shallow water, it offers safe bathing and many other watersports.
There is a free shuttle bus to the beach in July and August. The GR10 walk through the Pyrenees starts here but for recreational walkers there are plenty of options around the coast. Buses to Saint Jean de Luz, San Sebastian and Biarritz leave from outside the gates. In high season, entertainment, children’s clubs, excursions and activities are arranged. This is an extremely busy period and booking is strongly recommended. The campsite is in an ideal location for a visit to Spain and for exploring the Basque countryside.
