Alan Rogers Review of Camping A' Vouga
Camping A' Vouga is in the area of Costa da Morte, right on a broad beach. This is a very busy site. You'll have to ignore the cluttered entrance, but once you arrive at the beach, you'll forget all about it. The site is a large field that is on a terrace above the beach. The pitches are quite cramped, and many have no shade. The location in the area surrounding Santiago de Compostela ensures that visitors come from many nationalities.
The pilgrimage trail is located about a two-hour drive away, and the bus stop is at the entrance to the site. You reach the beach via a stone stairway of 15 steps. 500 metres further on is the San Francisco beach, with a wooden jetty to the beach. The restaurant (only accessible by stairs) serves dishes that will surpass your expectations. Cocktails and other drinks are served in the bar.
You can do your shopping in the supermarket in Louro (500 metres on foot). Muros is an energetic 45-minute walk away and is well worth a visit. Fortunately, there’s an almost hourly Monbus service from outside the site. The site has 70 grass touring pitches with a 10-amp hook-up point.
No shop on site but there is a café where bread can be ordered. The restaurant has a very reasonably priced daily menu, which is changed each day. There’s a lovely stroll along the boardwalk to the small villages of San Francisco and Louro, where there are a few bars and restaurants.

Directions to Camping A' Vouga
From the E1 at Santiago de Compostela take the AC549 towards Noia-Muros-Louro road. The site is 3 km south of Muros on the AC-550. Well signposted.
