Hidden in the countryside down a very quiet side road on the outskirts of the charming village of Saint Rémy-de-Provence, this site is managed by the farmer’s wife, Mme Perrot. A tiny and unpretentious Camping à la Ferme, it provides a quiet, modestly priced, green haven from the bustle of this busy tourist area. The 12 pitches are large and well spaced and campers have a freedom to organise themselves which is unknown on bigger, more commercial, sites. Whilst there are very few facilities, this need not necessarily detract from the pleasure of a stay here, many visitors preferring to use the site simply as a base for sightseeing in the area and spending relatively little time on site, while others enjoy the fact that they must provide their own entertainment.
The centre of Saint Rémy is about 15 minutes walk from this site. Here there is an excellent tourist information office with full details of the many events to be enjoyed locally. These include walking tours, pony trekking, exploring roman remains, archaeological digs, numerous museums, horse racing through the streets, and of course Provençal markets. There are also good bus links to Arles and Avignon.
