Biscarrosse-Plage is a lively holiday resort with a fabulous beach. La Plage Sud is a member of the Campéole group and is located around 800 m. from the beach. This is a massive site with 662 touring pitches, most with 6A electricity, and a further 451 pitches occupied by mobile homes, chalets and fully equipped tents (many available to rent). The site is lively in peak season with a varied programme of activities and entertainment (N.B. numbers are limited for some activities). On-site amenities include a swimming pool and paddling pool. Pitches are sandy and generally well shaded.

Surfing is very popular here with a surf school nearby. There are many miles of good sandy beaches. Other sports away from the beach are also catered for. There are miles of cycle tracks through the forest (cycle hire available on site). There is an adventure park in the tree tops and a theme park for younger children. Alternatively, there is a multisports pitch on site. The Marquèze eco-museum is fascinating, tracing life in this heavily forested region over many years. To the north, the Dune du Pyla, the highest in Europe, is recommended with fantastic views over the Arcachon basin and Landes forest.

Four modern toilet blocks were clean, with some washbasins in cabins, warm water and preset showers. Accessible Facilities. Motorhome services. Bar, snack bar and takeaway. Heated outdoor swimming pool (10/5-1/9). Paddling pool. Multisport terrain. Play area. Bicycle hire. Activity and entertainment programme. Mobile homes, chalets and tents to rent. WiFi throughout (charged). Charcoal barbecues are not allowed.

Directions to Campéole Plage Sud

From A63 motorway, take A66 towards Bassin d’Arcachon and Biscarrosse. Take Biscarrosse exit, then D216 towards Sanguinet and Biscarrosse. In Biscarrosse, take right turning off second roundabout, towards la Plage. The campsite is before Biscarrosse-Plage. Narrow entrance – large units ask at reception for access via side gate.
