Alan Rogers Review of Burton Hill Caravan Park
The owners of this park, Robert and Ali Simmons, tend it with pride. One field provides a flat grassy area surrounded by hedges, with open views across farmland on the outskirts of historic Malmesbury. A smaller field slopes down to the river.
The approach is through a well-tended ‘village’ of park homes. There are 36 pitches each with 16A electricity, with eight more for tents. There are limited amenities on-site, but you will find a choice of shops, inns and restaurants in the town, which is a short walk (10-15 minutes) across the river. Here you can also visit the Abbey House Gardens, Abbey and 15th-century marketplace.
Within easy travelling, distance are the towns of Bath, Chippenham, Tetbury, Trowbridge and Bradford-on-Avon. Also within reach are the Cotswold Water Parks, Castle Combe Racecourse and village and Westonbirt Arboretum.
