Alan Rogers Review
Eging is a Kurbad village of the type found in many parts of Germany where warm and cold water baths are used in a variety of treatments. It is located in the southwest tip of the Bavarian Forest, in good walking country and occupies an open hilltop position amidst rolling forest countryside on slightly sloping ground about 600 m. from the small lake, treatment and sports centre. Mainly level numbered pitches on terraces of grass or fine gravel are divided by bushes and trees on either side of tarmac roads. Water and electricity points are widely spaced (long cables may be needed).
This area, known as ‘The Bavarian Toscana’, is an ideal holiday destination for those who enjoy nature and being surrounded by countryside. As well as plenty of walking opportunities, the 45 km. Danube-Ilz cycle path is popular. The cities of Passau and Regensburg and the small towns of Deggendorf and Straubing are worth visiting if you are looking for sightseeing excursions.
