Alan Rogers Review
Materials hundreds of millions of years old, centuries old crafts and practices, together with the very latest technology have been combined in the construction of this environmental award-winning site. Four years in the planning, Alpencamp showcases comfortable, attractive and environmentally-friendly accommodation set against an impressive panorama of mountains in the beautiful Lesachtal. This quiet family run site has 80 pitches, all with 13/16A electricity; they are level and on grass with some tree shade. The main building, together with the site’s five rental chalets, were constructed to strict ecological/allergy-free standards by local craftsman.
Reception holds a large selection of tourist information; in addition, a flat screen monitor runs a video showing scenes and holiday ideas in the surrounding region. On the first floor of the main building is the wellness area. Reached by an open larch staircase, it contains a sauna ‘village’ with two adventure grottos. In the first is a thunderstorm in the mountains, in the second, called Grotta Dell Amore, a surprise awaits. Next is a bio herb sauna followed by a high temperature dry sauna and then a crystal steam bath. In addition, there is an infrared light therapy room, an amazing relaxation room, the fitness room and a solarium. (Daily charge for wellness area). There is E-bike/mountain bike rental with ten free battery exchange stations in the area.
