Walch's Camping & Landhaus is found in the Vorarlberg region of Western Austria. The site has 94 marked-out pitches, mostly without shade. The reception building houses a small shop, laundry, toilet facilities and ski/boot room, while the upper floor has a small wellness centre, comprising of a Finnish style sauna and solarium which looks out onto the mountain ranges. You can also find a children's playground on-site during the summer months.
A friendly welcome awaits at this well equipped, family run site delightfully located at the junction of five Alpine valleys. From this hillside site there are magnificent, ever-changing views along and across the mountains. Very easily reached from the A14 autobahn and located on the outskirts of a large village with all facilities, the site is not only ideal as a stopover but also as a base from which to tour in this spectacular alpine region. All of the 115 generously sized, terraced pitches have 13A electricity, 60 are fully serviced and most are hard enough for motorhomes. Two terraces for caravans are car free with a separate car parking area.
Only a short drive from the A14 autobahn, Alpencamping is a well-run and comfortable, all-year-round site set in a natural bowl with splendid mountain views. All 150-level pitches are for touring with 16A electricity; all have fresh, wastewater, and TV connections. Most are set on neat terraces.
The 4-star Camping Dornbirn was completely rebuilt in 2019. The infrastructure is architecturally innovative, state-of-the-art and sustainably made from local wood. The location in the middle of nature and yet close to the city centre is almost unique. This site is just outside the town, next to the municipal swimming pool complex, and the enthusiastic Dutch owners give a very warm welcome that makes this a very pleasant place to stay. The site is bisected by the unfenced River Enz, which is little more than a stream at this point. The site has 120 pitches (35 are seasonal). The section nearest the road is occupied by 35 long-stay units. The other half, on the other side of the river with its own access road, is solely for tourers. This has 85 very large, open grass pitches, all with electricity (16A), of which 20 are fully serviced with water and drainage.
Climbing up the newly rebuilt road alongside the green valley, we reach the pretty village of Raggal. Grosswalsertal lies just beyond the village on a small plateau. From almost every pitch there are the most fantastic views down the valley. On open grass, there are 55 slightly sloping, un-numbered and unmarked pitches all with 16A electricity. Plenty of sporting activities are available locally and there are many places to visit, as well as walks and bike rides in the immediate area. Alternatively, just rest on the site and watch the clouds roll by. The site is very popular with Dutch visitors.
The town of Feldkirch lies near the borders with Germany, Switzerland and Liechtenstein. This site is part of the Gisingen sports stadium on the edge of the town. The Vorarlberg mountains and Bodensee (Lake Constance) are nearby and there are good sporting facilities, including a large outdoor pool with water slides, at the stadium next to the site. Set in a quiet residential suburb about 4 km. from the centre, and surrounded by tall trees, the site’s 130 pitches (with 6A electricity) are on flat grass, either in the centre, or to the side of the hard road which runs round the camping area.
Camping Salzmann is a part of the Rohrspitz watersports centre, on the southern bank of Lake Constance. There are 45 grass touring pitches here, of varying sizes, each with an electrical connection. The complex comprises many water-based activities, from canoeing to lake excursions. An electronic card is used for access to the toilet blocks and to pay for hot water and showers. The lakeside restaurant has fine views across the marina to the lake and mountains. The Salzmann harbour is at the heart of the complex and has moorings for 190 boats, as well as good maintenance facilities.
