This lovely site looks across the Sound of Mull to the mainland, and on a clear day, Ben Nevis can be seen from the tent pitches. There are 31 hardstanding pitches for tourers, all with 13A electricity hook-ups, plus 59 tent pitches. The tent pitches are on astroturf and strong pegs and a hammer are available from reception if required.

Rental accommodation is in two cottages and 13 Shielings (traditionally a Gaelic hut, but in this case, tents made of a very thick white material). Some are en-suite, carpeted and have gas and electricity. Most pitches have wonderful views.

There is an abundance of wildlife around the park, so don’t be surprised if you see an otter, deer or an eagle. Craignure is the ideal base for touring around the Isle Of Mull. The local pub, shop, cafe, ferry, buses for Tobermory and Iona (for Staffa) are a mere stroll away. For the more energetic, you can even walk to the island swimming pool or hike the bens.

Facilities at Shieling Holidays

The modern, clean toilet block can be heated and has free showers and hairdryers. Two Sheiling toilet blocks are in the tent area, along with baths and accessible facilities. Family shower room. A well equipped laundry and covered clothes lines. Motorhome services. Games room. Bicycle hire and boat launching. Free WiFi in reception and common room (open 24 hours; no mobile signal).

Directions to Shieling Holidays

Take a ferry crossing to Mull. Take the A849 to Craignure. The site is at the far end of the village looking across to the jetty.
