The verdant countryside of the southern Harz area offers much for walkers and anglers, and this site organises many outings ranging from free walks through the woodlands and along the country trails to evenings beside the open fire. This site is also popular in winter for skiing holidays as the closest ski slopes are just 4 km away. It also has the benefit of a heated indoor pool and sauna.

Knaus Campingpark Walkenried has 96 touring pitches, each 80-100 sq.m. and arranged in well-shaded groups on slightly sloping grass and gravel. Most are separated by bushes or trees and have 16A, two-pin electrical connections. There are 13 hardstanding pitches, all fully serviced with electricity, water and drainage. There are some smaller hardstandings for motorhomes. Summer outdoor activities available in the area include tennis, cycling and watersports.
