Alton, The Star Camping & Caravanning Club site is situated in the Peak District. If you are planning to visit Alton Towers, this attractive, well maintained family friendly site is perfectly placed, being just a mile from the theme park. Carsington Water and Visitor Centre, north east of the site, offers a wide range of activities for all the family on and off the water including miles of footpaths and bridleways to explore, a children’s play area, fishing and many water sports. The serviced pitches overlook the play area. The site has 180 grass or hardstanding pitches (some seasonal). There are a number of private holiday homes available for hire and 9 safari tents for hire.

Only half an hour's drive to Stoke-on-Trent and you can see the Anglo-Saxon treasures of the Staffordshire Hoard at The Potteries Museum and Art Gallery. There is also the Wedgewood Visitor Centre full of artefacts, some dating back to Josiah Wedgewood the man who started the pottery industry as we know it today.

Directions to Alton, The Star Camping & Caravanning Club Site

If towing, approach the site from the A52, avoid travelling through Cheadle. The site is on the A52 Stoke on Trent/ Ashbourne road. From Stoke on Trent, after Whiston ignore all righthand turns until you reach B5417. Turn right here signed Oakamoor and Alton Towers. The site is then on the left. From Ashbourne on A52 turn left at B5417 signed Oakamoor and Alton Towers. The site is then on the left.
