Rhandirmwyn Camping & Caravanning Club site is a popular site with those who like a peaceful life with no onsite entertainment, just fresh air and beautiful countryside. The site is only a short drive from the magnificent Llyn Brianne Reservoir and close to the Dinas RSPB nature reserve, where a two mile trail runs through oak and alder woodland alongside the River Tywi, and the wildlife includes many species of birds such as red kites. The village is within walking distance although there is a fairly steep hill to negotiate (but the return is much easier), and you can take a short cut through the woodland grove.The site is in a sheltered valley with 80 pitches (some seasonal) on level grass, 51 electricity hook-ups (16A) and 21 hardstandings. The site has 5 holiday homes to let.

Non-members are welcome and may join on site. Please speak to site staff for details and to check pitch availability before arrival.

Visitors interested in walking can enjoy the 8 mile trail around the shore of the Usk Reservoir in the National Park; fishing is available here too. The nearby Glasfyndd Forest also has great walking and cycling tracks. Llyn Brianne Dam & Reservoir is also worth a visit for its breathtaking views. Further afield is the subterranean world of the National Showcaves Centre for Wales: as well as the caves you can visit the dinosaur park, shire horse centre and the Iron Age village. The 13th century hillside Carreg Cennen Castle is south of the campsite near the village of Trapp.

Directions to Rhandirmwyn Camping & Caravanning Club Site

From Builth Wells on A483, in Llandovery turn right at the fire station. Then turn left at the Royal Oak, pass the church and the site is on the left. Do not use sat nav for directions after leaving Llandovery.

From Abergavenny or Carmarthen on A40, in Llandovery turn right to cross the railway bridge. Join A483 signed Builth Wells. Turn left at fire station then as above.
