This attractive site, with its own lake, nestles in the Surselva Valley among mountains snowcapped for most of the year. Surrounded by tall pine trees, the site is owned by the Touring Club of Switzerland (the Swiss version of the Caravan Club) and provides 150 fairly level pitches, 81 with 13A electricity. There are plenty of opportunities for walks, nature trails and cycle rides, whilst the more adventurous can enjoy themselves canyoning, rafting, hang-gliding or mountain biking. For children, the adventure playground is a challenging combination of water, rocks and bridges. Hardy souls can brave the fresh mountain waters of the lake.

The rocks of the Medelser Rhine near Disentis are known to bear the richest deposits of gold in the country (apart from the banks in Zurich!). Over the years many people have come to Switzerland to bury or hide their gold, but if you go to Disentis/Müster you have the chance of finding some! Since the 1980s when serious prospecting began there has been a gold rush in Disentis. Try your luck! That apart, this is an ideal holiday spot for both sports fans and nature lovers.

Directions to TCS Camping Disentis

Site is 2 km. south of Disentis. From Andermatt take the Oberalppass to Disentis. In town at T-junction turn right towards Lukmanier. Site is at bottom of hill on left, past the droopy power cables. From the east, on arriving in the town, keep left onto Lukmanier Road.
