Alan Rogers Review of Stanmore Hall Touring Park
This attractive park is situated in the former grounds of Stanmore Hall, where the huge lily pond, fine mature trees and beautifully manicured lawns give a mark of quality. There are 133 generously sized pitches, 128 with 16 amp electricity, digital TV connection and a choice of grass or hardstanding, 30 of these have water and waste. Also available are 23 standard pitches, but most are on grass. Some pitches are reserved for adult only use (over 18 years). Access and internal roads are tarmac; site lighting is adequate and reassuring. A size restriction of 30 ft. exists for motorhomes.
The site is a member of the Caravan and Motorhome Club Affiliated Site Scheme but visitors who are not members of the club are also very welcome.
Reception is located within the shop. The adjacent conservatory (open during shop hours) allows guests to sit in comfort overlooking the lake and observe the wildlife. But there’s something else too: this is a peaceful site with personality. Little wonder it needs advance booking and people keep returning to enjoy its atmosphere. Open all year round, there are even groups who spend Christmas and New Year at Stanmore Hall. The Severn Valley is full of interest: Bridgnorth is nearby, television’s Victorian Farm and the Ironbridge Gorge Museum are just a few attractions.
Please note that the Victorian Farm close to the park is currently closed to visitors.
