A pleasant little seaside village, Angeiras has a good beach with the occasional restaurant and bar, several shops and a small supermarket. The campsite is close to the heart of the village and is probably the most attractive Orbitur site we have visited. It is well kept, and pitches are under trees, separated by neatly trimmed hedges. Manoeuvring larger units might be tricky in places, but some areas are not marked where you can find a spot under pine trees or in the open. There is space for some 404 touring units among the many seasonal caravans. Electrical connections (6A) are available throughout.

A drive along the coast road will take you to more beaches and other villages, or you can take the motorway, toll-free, to Porto. Alternatively, a regular bus service from the campsite gates gets to the city centre in an hour and a quarter.

Here you can take an open-top tourist bus to get the flavour of the place, hopping off and on where you choose. You will cross the River Douro to Vila Nova de Gaia, where you can visit one or more of the port wine cellars, or take a relaxing trip on the river.

Facilities at Orbitur Camping Angeiras

Three toilet blocks, one recently reconstructed and a second refurbished, are kept very clean: hot water to preset showers but cold water to open-style washbasins. Baby rooms. En-suite accessible units. Washing machines and dryer. Motorhome service point. Small supermarket (High season, basic supplies in reception other times). Pleasant bar and an excellent restaurant (all year, popular with locals). Swimming and paddling pools (Seasonal). Multisports courts. Sports field. Minigolf. Lounge with TV. Play area. Chalets and mobile homes to rent. WiFi in the reception area (free).

Directions to Orbitur Camping Angeiras

Angeiras is just north of Porto. From A1 motorway join A28 north (toll-free from Porto, electronic tolls from north). Leave at exit 12 (Lavra) and follow signs for Angeiras; the site is well signed from the motorway exit.
