This attractive site is just 8 km from the Arctic Circle. Large and well organised, it is bordered on one side by the river and by woodland on the other and is just 3 km from the town centre. It has 170 level, grassy touring pitches, an area for tents, and 58 cabins to rent. Electricity (10A) is available to 159 pitches. The site has a heated, open-air pool complex open in summer (no lifeguard).

There are opportunities for snowmobiling, cross-country skiing in spring and ice fishing in winter. Try visiting the famous Jokkmokk Winter Market (first Thursday to Saturday in February) or the less chilly Autumn Market (end of August).

Nearby attractions include the first hydro-electric power station at Porjus, built 1910-15, with free tours between 15/6-15/8. Vuollerim (40 km) is a reconstructed 6,000-year-old settlement with excavations of the best preserved Ice Age village.

Facilities at Jokkmokks Camping Center

Heated sanitary buildings provide mostly open washbasins and controllable showers – some are curtained with a communal changing area, and a few are in cubicles with dividers and seats. A unit by reception has a baby bathroom, a fully equipped accessible suite, a games room, plus a very well-appointed kitchen and launderette. A further unit with WCs, washbasins, showers, plus a steam sauna, is by the pool. Shop, restaurant and bar (in summer). Takeaway (High season). Swimming pools (25x10 m. main pool with water slide, two smaller pools and paddling pool, high season). Bicycle hire. Playground and adventure playground. Minigolf. Football field. Games machines.
